Add taxes to a sales order
You can add taxes to an order when they apply. If you conduct business in markets that collect sales tax, you’ll need to configure and add these taxes to Customer accounts. Once added to the account they will auto populate on any orders you create. Additionally, Tax Scheme can be manually set on individual sales orders after they’ve been created.
Note: You must first setup your sales Tax Schemes in order to apply them on a Sales Order.
- Navigate to your sales order.
- In the right pane, click on the Miscellaneous tab.
- Select an option from the Tax Scheme drop-down menu.
- Review the tax information in the financial summary table on the right side of the order.
Add a tax scheme as a default for a Bill To customer
- Navigate to
Sales, then
Customers.
- Find the Customer in the left pane and double-click on the name.
- Click on the Other Info tab in the right pane.
- Select a default Tax Scheme for the Bill To customer.
- You may also choose to toggle on Apply to all ship to so all Ship To’s will have the same defaults. Note: New orders pull Tax Scheme from the Customer Ship To. If a Customer has multiple Ship To's in different tax regions then this option will need to be off so that each Ship To can have the appropriate Tax Scheme assigned.
