Shift transaction

You can Shift items from one product to another in your inventory using the Shift transaction (e.g., changing from one size to another). You can also change the location, spacing type and other information about the item in the same transaction. After a Shift transaction, the inventory is automatically deducted from the “Shift From” item size and added to the “Shift To” item size.

Note: Before shifting from one size to another, the new item size must already be included in the Item Size Library.

  1. Navigate to Inventory Icon Inventory, then Inventory Adjustments Icon Inventory Adjustments.
  2. Click on shift icon Shift.
  3. Search for the item by using the search bars provided.
  4. Click on the item you wish to shift, then complete the information in the Shift columns. See a description of each column below.
  5. Hit Enter to complete the transaction.

Shift Column Descriptions​

Columns with * are required.

  • Date Shifted*: Defaults to today's date, but can be changed by clicking
  • Shift Qty*: Number of plants shifted to the new size
  • Shift To*: Begin typing the new item product ID or name into the box then select the correct item from the drop down options
  • Ready*: Estimated date the crop will be ready for sale
  • Location*: Place in inventory where items can be found in
  • Bed: More specific inventory location for items
  • Cost*: Cost per plant for the new item being shifted to
  • Customer: Requires the Purchasing Add-On and used if the entire crop is reserved for one customer
  • On Availability: A Yes designation identifies that a crop is ready to be sold and should be listed on the availability
  • Spacing Type: "P2P" means pot to pot, "S" means spaced
  • Comments: Notes about the plants
  • Prod. Comments: Production notes about the plants
  • Grade: Information about the quality of the plants
  • Reason: Note about the reason for shift

Tip: In the case of shifting many-to-one or one-to-many, you can include a Shift from Qty column by going to system setup logo System Setup > Company Preferences > Inventory and enabling the "Allow to enter Shift From Qty" option. Without this column, all shifts reduce the same qty from the previous item size as added to the new one.
