Create a Promotion or Sale

Discounting is typically done in eGrow Connect using pricing groups, but if you want to create a temporary promotion or sale you can do that by following the steps below. Your promotion could apply to specific plants, customers, pricing groups, or dates.

  1. Navigate to Inventory Icon Inventory, then promotion icon Promotions.
  2. Click on Add New icon New Promo.
  3. Create a Promo Code, Begin Date, and End Date for the promotion.
  4. Select a method for the promotion (Fixed Price for choosing new promo prices, and Percent for a percentage discount for the item that will be applied before any global discounts on orders.)
  5. Click Add.
  6. Define your promotion by entering more information in the tabs. See details about each tab below.
  7. Once the promotion has been created and enabled, the discounts will apply automatically to discounted items on included order types during the promotion dates.

Tip: You can export a list of promo items using the Export to Excel button on the "Promo Items" tab.

Promotion Tab Details​

Preferences​

  • Promo Code: Create an alphanumeric name for the promotion.
  • Enabled: When turned on, this toggle switch will activate the promotion.
  • Applies to: Choose which types of orders this promotion will apply to.
  • Promo Dates: Choose the beginning and ending dates for the promotion
  • Promo Based On: Choose between the options of having the promotion dates apply to Order Date/Quote Date or Ship Date/Date Wanted
  • Pricing Group: Select a Pricing Group for this promotion to apply to.
  • Minimum Qty: Choose a minimum item quantity or leave as 0 to have no minimum quantity required.
  • Discount Method: Fixed Price or Percent based discount. You must create a new promotion to change this method.

Promo Items​

You must add each item that is included in the promotion. You can do it using the Add New icon Add button or by using ** copy paste import icon Import** to bring in an item list from Excel.

Once added, you may adjust each item’s “Min Qty” amount and “Discount%”/”Promo Price” manually if desired.

Customers​

By default all customers will be included in the promotion. If you want the promotion to only apply to some customers, add them to the list in this tab using the Add New icon Add button. To add a customer, they must already be included in the Customers list in eGrow Connect.
