Create a new projection

A projection is an estimate for future inventory. After creating a projection you can then allocate the projected items onto master orders or sales orders.

Scenario Example: Occasionally growers may want to sell inventory that does not yet exist in their physical inventory. For example a tree grower may want to take orders for different caliper sizes before the items have been graded and entered into inventory. The grower would use the projection feature to estimate the yields for each caliper size and then sell against those estimates. Later the grower will caliper the trees and replace the projected quantities with the actual counts.

  1. Navigate to Inventory Icon Inventory, then Inventory Adjustments Icon Inventory Adjustments.
  2. Click on projection icon Projection, then click the Add Projections tab.
  3. Use the search bars to find the plant(s) you wish to project and click on the item when you find it.
  4. Enter the quantity projected in the "Projection" column.
  5. Review the Ready Date for the items projected, add any comments, and select if the item will be included "On Availability" or not.
  6. Update Date column to be the "Date Planted" as needed.
  7. Hit Enter on the keyboard to complete and add the projection.

To update existing projections, click on Currently Projected and search for the product you wish to update. Click into the column(s) needing updated and enter a new value then press Enter on the keyboard to commit the change.
