Item Sizes Library Detail Description

The items in the Item Sizes Library are used throughout eGrow Connect to populate sales orders, shipping loads, reports, and more. A new item in the Item Size Library will pull in botanical information from the Master Items Library, then add details such as container size, price, SKU, etc. Click through the tabs below to learn about each data field option in the Item Sizes Library.

Finding the Master Items Library

1. Navigate to Inventory, then Master Items & Sizes.
2. Click on the Item Sizes tab in the left pane.
3. Click below to see a full description of each piece of information stored in each tab in this library.

General The information in this tab contains important information that is used throughout eGrow Connect. Items with * are required Identification Item Class: Production Add-on Module Only Choose between item or assembly. Product ID/SKU*: A unique identifier, also referred to as SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) that is specific to the item size. This can be auto-generated or accept alphanumeric characters manually. Once assigned, this identifier can not be changed. Barcode/GTIN (UPC/EAN): Enter your own barcode or click Assign to have a GTIN (Global Trade Identification Number) assigned. If needed, you can set up UPC (Universal Product Code) in System Setup. Status: Toggle to make this item active or discontinued Nomenclature Latin Name: Each plant has a unique Latin name (Example: Thuja occidentalis ‘Emerald Green’) Common Name: An alternative trade name used for this item (Example: Arborvitae, ‘Emerald’) Short Name: A shortened version of the Latin name. This is the name used most frequently throughout eGrow Connect for efficiency. (Thuja ‘Emerald’) Custom Name: An alternative naming option, if needed. Can be used to create a unique name for each item size (Example Custom Name: Thuja ‘Emerald’ 10 gal. 4’) Dimensions Enter the dimension ranges here. Plant Density Enter "Pot to Pot" and "Spaced" square footage and % Grow Time. Correct information here allows eGrow Connect to calculate the total square footage needed to produce planned crops in the Production Add-on module and also is used to produce accurate costing data for each plant. Grouping Select the category, type, and brand from drop down menus provided. You can setup the item classification lists in System Setup. Unit of Measure (UoM) Size/Pot/Container: Select a standardized size from the drop-down menu (example: 10 gallon) Desc1: Size description (example: 10 gallon 4 foot) Desc2: Alternative size description (optional) (example: 10 gallon 4 foot heavy) Sales UoM: Select which grouping you use for sales: tray, flat, liner, etc. Purchase UoM: Select which grouping you use for purchasing: tray, flat, liner, etc. Qty Per Shipping Unit: If you sell items individually but want to group them for shipping, you can indicate the number of individual items that make up one shipping unit here. For example, bareroot trees are sold individually but shipped in bundles of 25 so the Qty Per Shipping Unit is 25/bundle. Weight: Weight per unit Volume (freight factor): Space required per unit Tab/Label/Ribbon Color: Enter a color to be used for identifying tags or ribbons. Features Sculpted: toggle Yes or No Shape: Select from the dropdown menu. Extra Info Options For Sale: Select "No" if you want to reserve this item for production. Show on Availability: Select "No" if you want to block this item from appearing on availability. Allow Discount: Select "No" if you want to prevent this item from being discounted. Track Inventory: Select "No" if this item is a non-plant inventory (example: Load lock, freight) Promo Eligible: Select "No" if you want to prevent this item from participation in Promotions. Taxable: Select "No" if this item should not be taxed. Audit Date Entered: The date/time this item was first created in eGrow Connect Last Modified: The date/time this item was last modified in eGrow Connect User: The most recent user to make changes to this item Combine Inventory Use this field to combine multiple item sizes which you want to appear together under the same name on availabilities. Note: This does not combine these items in the inventory, only on availabilities. International HTS Code: The harmonized tariff schedule (HTS) is the primary source to classify goods imported and exported from the country, used by the United States Customs and Border Protection as a means to record international trade activity by product and collect duties and taxes. Origin: Place where the plant was grown. Pricing Options Minimum Order Quantity: Enter the smallest amount that someone could order of this item List Price: Typically the highest selling price for this item before any discounting or promotions Commission: Enter the percent of this item’s Sell Price that will be given as commission Growing Cost: The cost of producing an item, also known as Standard Cost. Read more about how this is used in the eGrow Connect Costing Overview. Patent Information Patented: Toggle Yes or No to indicate if this plant is patented. Patent Number: If patented, include number here Patent Info: Other patent information (Example: patent expiration date) Royalty/plant: Enter the royalty payment per plant in this box. Cost Information Average Cost: The average of purchase prices for this item Average Cost Landed: The average cost with shipping costs included Last Purchased: Date of most recent purchase Pricing Group Setup This table is a place to set up pricing groups Bill of Materials This tab is part of the Production Add-on Module Only. This tab is used to list the items needed to create an assembly. This will only be visible if the Item Class is set to Assembly. Purchasing This tab is part of the Purchasing Add-on Module Only. Reorder Point: Choose a quantity that, when reached, would be a good time to reorder. When this reorder point quantity is reached, eGrow Connect will add it to a list of items that have reached their reorder points. This list can be viewed when adding new items to a purchase order. Reorder Quantity: Amount that is typically reordered Lead Time: Enter the typical time between ordering and arrival for this item. Vendor Cost: Keep a list of vendors that carry this item along with their costs. The vendors must already be added to the Vendor List before they can be added here. Inventory This tab shows a summary of the quantities of this item in the inventory and committed on orders. Promotions This tab contains a list of promotions that apply to this item.
