Add plants to the Master Items & Item Sizes Libraries

eGrow keeps a catalog of plants in two different libraries, the Master Items Library and the Item Sizes Library.

1. Master Items Library: A catalog of plant names, botanical information, cultural information, and more for all the plant varieties at the nursery.
2. Item Sizes Library: When you combine a master item with size information you have created an Item Size. The Item Size Library will pull data from the Master Items Library and allow you to add additional information such as pricing and dimensions. Each Item Size will have a unique Product ID.

Keeping a separate Master Item Library eliminates the need to re-enter botanical details each time a new item is created.

Note: After adding items into your Master Items and Sizes Library, you will be able to add to your inventory using the Plant and Purchase functions.

Adding to the Master Items Library

Botanical, cultural and other information is stored here about each of your plants. You can go back and include more information or edit it later on.

1. Navigate to Inventory, then Master Items & Sizes.
2. Click on Add Item.
3. Complete the fields for your new item, fields with * are required.
4. Continue adding more information about your plant in the tabs on the right pane. See a full description of each Master Item Library tab.

Adding Item Sizes to the Library

When a master item is combined with a size, it is added to the Items Sizes Library and given a unique Product ID or SKU (Stock Keeping Unit). The Product ID or SKU is used throughout eGrow Connect to manage your inventory.

1. Navigate to Inventory, then Master Items & Sizes.
2. Search for the item by typing in Common Name or Latin Name search bars.
3. Double-click on the correct plant name.
4. Click on Add Size.
5. Complete the form fields for your new item size, fields with * are required.
6. Continue adding more information about your plant in the tabs on the right pane. See a full description of each Item Sizes Library tab.
